Fall Retreat (with a side of Morning Glory)

This past weekend I traveled down to Lakeshore Camp with my awesome youth group for Fall Retreat 2012. We arrived on Friday evening and tried to keep our eyes open to watch How The Grinch Stole Christmas and then completely crashed in our warm bunks for the night...only after a little exploration and some crazy good star-gazing with the littles :) As the sun came up, I rushed over to the outdoor chapel. there, I met up with my favorite dude (and by favorite dude...i mean Jesus) and we had great conversation about the weekend and life lately. I then had 2 cups of coffee (i know...i'm crazy!) in a rocking chair and shared my happy with the wonderful adults that accompanied us on the trip. After brekky, a cool session, and lunch, I got to spend some quality time with some of my favorite people. Hammock time and Ultimate Frisbee were much needed for this girl. oh and not to mention a crazy game of beach volleyball. We then got to do some tree climbing! That was followed by date night and owl prowl. We ended the night with a bonfire and some extra delicious s'mores. Out of the whole weekend, Sunday morning had to have been my favorite. I woke up early. I walked down to the outdoor chapel like the morning before. the only difference? this time, the sun was not out quite yet. it was still a hazy dusk, but the colors of light rising over the lake were something out of a cowboy cliche.  I sat quietly and watched as the sun peeked over the horizon. and as the light burst forth into the world, God whispered, "You see this morning glory? see how beautiful it is? I love you more than this."

This week I'm thankful for:
crazy, messy, loud littles that love me so well
two cups of Jo
conversations with my favorite dude
hammock time
camp culture
morning glory
God's unfailing love for me
& his constant pursuit of my heart

Fall retreat (as seen from my iphone):

hallelujah, amen.
