"We were together. and that was enough..."

Its almost scary to think that one person can have such an influence on you. These people flutter in and out of our lives sometimes without ever knowing they changed a life. It could be a sentence, a testimony, a letter, or a hug that can change your perspective on things. This scary something has been happening more and more recently. A teacher will give a lesson that applies outside the classroom, a staff member at a camp gives their testimony that rings the bell in your mind, a friend sits in a room and sings songs with you that define your summer together. All of these things add up and one day you look yourself in the mirror and realize the change in yourself. a good change. The old me would be up to her knees in disappointment and shoveled under a blanket of tears with all this stress. but i sit quietly, in some sort of sleepy peace and thank God for where I'm at today. because without the people mentioned above, i would still be the old me. if it werent for the teacher who said, "i believe in you." or the staff member saying, "i know where you're coming from." or even that one friend who sat in my room and sang the harmonies that define our friendship. I would still be stuck in that rut. people just dont realize how much of an impact they have by just being in someone's life. im sure i dont even realize it myself. i give you a quote that explains my state of mind:

"We didn’t talk about anything heavy or light.
We were just there together. And that was enough."
