Lent: Week One

required wednesday morning listening:

autumn tree - milo greene

--------------------------------------------------

As little Beth reminded me today, "the first days are the hardest." I am so proud of my little for giving up facebook for the first time this season. Kudos to her for being a rockstar. But she is right, the first days are the hardest. It sounds so silly that we have withdraws from social networks and it's mind blowing that I have let myself get to that point. All week I have filling in my time with much needed jam sessions and writing sessions and most of all reading! my hope is that i also start painting again. this feeling that has taken hold of my spirit is a feeling full of freedom and fresh air (minus the torrential down-pour happening just outside my window). here are my thoughts on this week.

things I have learned this week:
-working hard pays off in the end
-forgiving is the best remedy
-fasting helps us realize the things we truly should rely on

what to work on in week two:
-patience
-understanding
-relying on god rather than myself

my verse for the week comes from 2 Corinthians 2:5-13.
I encourage you to read it and let it change your thoughts.

this week as seen by my iphone:

have a blessed week
-em

ps- seeing as how i do not have much time on my hands during this busy time, i will try my best to write as often as possible. my hope is that i recap every wednesday night. and i may throw in a few "for fun" posts at random :)
