Love Fiercely

There are some people in your life that are just captivating. They love with a fierceness and are so passionate that they make you sometimes feel like your fingers are burning because their fire is so bright. They remember all of your favorite things and get more excited than you do when something good happens in your life. They cry with you, they pray with&for you, they think you are hilarious even when you're not, and they always know the best music. And they're genuine. Right to the core. People like this are rare especially today. Their kind of like shooting stars. And when you see one, you can't help but stand outside and watch as it blazes across the night sky. I'll tell ya, there aren't many people out there who are as willing to join you in this journey called life as these kinds of people 

I have a friend like this. She is all of the above. She is a wild fire, a crazy train, a lion, and yet she is the most kind spirit. Our stories have been colliding ever since the first day of fourth grade when she thought I was her best friend. we even when through a stage where we hated each other. what started off as a simple 4th grade friend-of-a-friend kinda thing, turned into one of the most grounded friendships that I have. 

Like I said, we met by happenstance in the fourth grade. and we went from elementary school all the way till may 18, 2013: graduation day. Ill spare you the awkward and hilarious stories of our preteen years. but In high school we did become obsessed with this blog our sophomore year which led to letter writing and learning how to love others in a passionate way. 

She has been there for all of the birthdays, all the heartbreaks, all the breakdowns and break throughs. And she has stood next to me, cried & prayed with me, and sat at the foot of the baptismal pool grinning ear to ear as I came alive. She knows how to keep it weird, she knows all the best jokes, she's a lover of good music, and she likes to send snail mail. She is kind and goofy and so passionate about others and the Lord. My friend, here, has seen me at my best, my worst, through my awkward stage and all the way back and somehow she still loves me with a love that I know can only come from the Father. 

I have watched her grow into a magnificent woman of God and my heart is so happy that I get to walk along side her in this life. Today this girl is 19 and I couldn't be more excited for another year of this friendship.  

J, you are so loved by all. Happy Birthday dear friend.
